In a universe that tends towards disorganization, healing is a natural miracle. An intricate symphony of energy in our bodies supports life; when trauma interrupts that flow, cells and molecules array themselves to restore it in ways the mind may not even grasp. Yet some traumatic experiences overwhelm an organism’s ready capacity to heal. Spiritual traditions mobilize healers, rituals, wisdom, and community to facilitate healing, and contemporary psychotherapy proffers specialists, exercises, research, and support groups.  An integrative therapeutic approach that draws upon all of these, in my experience, enhances the coherence of body, mind, and spirit as trauma is resolves. As a spiritual counselor with a background in the sciences and both clinical and somatic training, and as a human being rooted in an ancient spiritual tradition, I draw from various modalities, helping my client to nurture healing wisdom within and to reconnect with their internal, organic vitality and harmony.

My life-long interest in understanding the human experience of brokenness and well-being on the individual and collective level led me to interweave study of various languages and disciplines including Physics, Sociology, Philosophy, Women’s Studies, Peace Studies, and Jewish tradition, so that I could cull insights from all these human endeavors to understanding how to live with meaning, wholeness, and joy. Having earned the title "Rabbi," I continued to study Neuroscience, Psychology, Conflict Resolution, attachment-focused EMDR, and Somatic Experiencing®. My private practice in counseling (English & Hebrew) blossomed out of my spiritual practice and my work in the community, as people have gravitated to the mindfulness, harmony, and clarity that my spiritual and somatic practice cultivate. As trauma survivors, as parents, and as stressed-out human beings, my clients seek to draw upon all of my expertise to nourish their own healing, resilience, and growth.

My approach is to work within the framework of my client, utilizing interventions congruent with their belief system and worldview. Inspired by Gestalt, psychoanalytic, and somatic modalities, I integrate Jewish tradition when this is expressly requested. My responses and interventions are intended to help you through particular challenges for which you seek support, through a deeply integrative approach; our shared intention is to enhance your access to your internal resources for healing and resilience, for a lifetime.

My intuition as a therapist is informed by continuous reading, study and thought, always with my clients in mind. I enjoy and nourish my own practice with deep work in diverse disciplines and cultures, attending workshops and trainings, consulting and supervising peers, reading and studying, as well as from my own ongoing personal experience of spirituality, bodywork, and therapy. I have worked with the International Trauma Institute for many years, and worked closely with international SE faculty who have developed powerful integrative lenses and modalities rooted in Somatic Experiencing and integrating other fields of practice.  For several years, I have also had the privilege of assisting Dr. Peter Levine in his Master Classes and public teaching.
