I have been a yoga and meditation teacher since 1989. I began yoga at 14 and was immediately fascinated by the wisdom of the body and the ability we have to calm the nervous system through asanas, breathwork, meditation, and simply listening within.I became a certified Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapist and Registered Yoga Teacher (over 500+ hours) in 1991. This gave me a creative platform to explore the stories and expressions within the body, mind, and heart. I then attended graduate school to study Somatic Psychology, spent time in India learning deeper teachings in yoga and meditation, and became a hospice volunteer. I love Somatic Experiencing (SE) and combining it with Yoga Therapy. While I can conduct standard SE sessions, I find clients experience a tremendous amount of well-being when we combine simple yoga postures (often Restorative Poses) with SE work. My care is very holistic. When appropriate, I share guided visualizations, nutritional education, exercise support, and knowledge about the chakras. You can read some of my articles at Yogajournal.com: Seventh Heaven (Yoga Therapy and the Chakras) and Gut Feelings (a holistic support to digestive challenges). My safe, nurturing sessions invite clients to relax deeply, learn how to listen to the body's wisdom, and reconnect with one's center. I am certified to give Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced SE Sessions for SE students in training for them to receive credit towards graduation. I am also able to give individual and group consultations at any level.
