Bonnie Rose Fernandez is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who makes her home and therapy practice in the Monterey Bay area, the ancestral home of the Rumsen and Ohlone Peoples. Bonnie earned her Masters in Counseling Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute. Bonnie is a developmental and attachment based therapist with over 35 years working with infants, children, adolescents and adults, helping people recover and develop their authentic Self that may have been lost, unsupported, or harmed. Bonnie works collaboratively with her clients, with respect and presence, without pathologizing their symptoms and diverse experiences. Bonnie helps her clients to learn emotional regulation skills to better manage anxiety and depressive symptoms, renegotiate their trauma histories, and connect with their innate creativity. Bonnie draws upon her eclectic skills and training in Somatic Experiencing, somatic-focused EMDR, attachment focused parenting, as well as internal family systems and expressive art therapy. Bonnie is also part of a comprehensive practice providing Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy/Integration for appropriate patients with treatment resistant depression or other chronic conditions, which complements beautifully with Somatic Experiencing therapy. Bonnie is a visual artist, mother, grandmother, life-partner, and social justice activist. Virtual sessions are available, as well as in-person in her Carmel, California office.
