As a Psychotherapist and Licensed Clinical Social Worker practicing in New York and Massachusetts, I work with clients to heal of the stored effects of trauma. I believe that people have an innate capacity to heal and change. Access to this healing is sometimes blocked by negative and destructive patterns that are formed when there is a need to adapt and survive difficult, traumatic or overwhelming experiences. In a collaborative, empathic, and safe atmosphere, I facilitate people's connections to their own resources and foster the creation of a compassionate self that is free to make mindful choices and unhook old patterns. Through psychodynamic, humanistic and somatically oriented approaches, I help people find new insights and awareness, build resiliency and create pathways to greater fulfillment.I work with people on issues related to depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, addictions, grief, and life stress. I have extensive experience with childhood and developmental trauma, sexual trauma, 9/11 trauma, and single event trauma. I offer additional expertise in the areas of relationships and adoption issues, as well as sexual orientation and gender identity. I received my MSW from New York University and have additional post-graduate training. I am a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner and am Certified in Clinical Hypnosis and EMDR. I welcome new clients as well as those who are looking for new approaches to old problems. I am currently offering teletherapy sessions only. Please contact me to discuss your needs and to set up an appointment.
