Christina M. Conrad

SE™ PractitionerSE Coordinator

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor - Supervisor (LPC-s) and a Somatic Experience Practitioner (SEP). I am passionate about helping people find healing, freedom and peace in the midst of their struggles. Whether it is trauma symptoms, addiction, unhealthy relationships, painful behavioral/emotional patterns, THERE IS HOPE! I believe this deeply.

I use an eclectic approach to counseling, knowing that each individual is unique. Being trained in Somatic Experiencing means that I am highly skilled in recognizing how the body and central nervous system is impacted by life experiences – past and present.  There is extensive research on how the brain and body are a part of the healing process and it is not merely in our thoughts. I work to identify “holding patterns” in our lives, which refers to repetitive behaviors that are no longer working for us – whether this is cognitive, behavioral, spiritual or emotional. We – as human beings and spiritual creatures – have all those qualities. My aim is to aid the client in learning how to fully integrate these parts of self, bringing broken places into the light so they may be healed, so that one can feel peace and hope all the way through their being.

My expertise lies in trauma – childhood physical, sexual and emotional abuse, PTSD, combat trauma, domestic violence.  I also have extensive experience in addiction and I believe addiction to be a disease of disconnection, pain and overwhelm, not merely poor choices. I have experience working with grief counseling, pre and perinatal preparation, anxiety and trauma (including c-section and traumatic birth). I have worked in inpatient and outpatient facilities, as well as in Domestic Violence shelters and community centers. I now own my own practice and am available to walk with you through the difficulties you are facing – whether they appear to be internal or external.

I also offer clinical trainings and CEUs for those in the mental health profession, as well as public speaking engagements. Do not hesitate to contact me with any questions. I look forward to speaking with you.
