Welcome! You are invited to restore balance to your body, mind, emotions and spirit through integrative somatic sessions with Christine Milovani, LCSW. She combines 20 years of experience in clinical social work, psychotherapy, somatic therapies and eastern healing modalities. Christine holds a safe and grounded space for healing, while approaching each person with genuine support, authenticity and an open-heart. Sessions are tailored for what is needed in the moment and a partnership is created to focus on healing the whole person.
Integrative somatic psychotherapy sessions combine traditional psychotherapy with integrative mind-body techniques that engage body-centered wisdom to support mental, physical, emotional and spiritual health. A combination of somatic therapy approaches may be used in session based on the clinical assessment of needs from your therapist and with expressed permission: body-centered psychotherapy, mindfulness, guided imagery, breath awareness, movement, tai chi, qigong, Somatic Experiencing®, EMDR, CBT, and Motivational Interviewing. (Psychotherapy sessions are only available in Wisconsin, where Christine is licensed as an LCSW).
Integrative somatic healing sessions will include coaching, consultation, education, mindfulness, guided imagery, breath awareness, movement, tai chi, qigong, and Somatic Experiencing®. (These sessions are available via telehealth anywhere, and are not focused on psychotherapy, clinical assessment, diagnosis or clinical interventions).
Christine Milovani, LCSW, is skilled in assessing, problem solving, providing feedback, assisting in lifestyle and behavior changes and connecting to community resources. She can offer advocacy, consultation and support by collaborating with medical, mental health, and integrative professionals within your plan of care. With specialized skills in trauma recovery, she can also serve as an adjunct health professional in coordination with your primary mental health therapist.
In addition to somatic focused therapy, some sessions may involve more action oriented work to review the motivation around daily lifestyle "choices for change" and capacity for resilience. Solutions for creating balance in life are discussed and supported. Stress management skills are taught through educational and experiential feedback. Learn techniques that can be practiced daily to support your self-healing and well-being. The goal is to empower a person to heal and transform from within, while increasing coping skills and confidence in daily life.
Positive impact of integrative somatic sessions may include: increased self-awareness, improved connection to one's own body, increased self-confidence, improved social connections and relationships, reduced stress, reduced trauma responses, increased self-regulation, and increased resilience.
Location: Private practice through Healing & Balance LLC in Mount Horeb, Wisconsin, offering telehealth sessions only (45, 60, 75 or 90 minutes) during COVID-19 precautions. Payment is fee for service (no insurance), and scheduling is usually within 2-3 weeks.
