As a seasoned music therapist with fifteen years of experience, I offer various approaches to therapeutic needs. Those needs have included dementia, hospice, medical needs, neurologic disorders, and addictions. I hold a Bachelor Equivalency degree in music therapy, maintaining the Music Therapist Board Certified qualification; and a Master of Arts degree in psychology. I am a trained Stephen Minister, having offered caring, compassionate listening to four care receivers. I work with individuals and groups.
I embrace an eclectic approach, including autonomic nervous system regulation through HeartMath®, Somatic Experiencing®, NeuroAffective Touch; and the Safe and Sound Protocol; deeper mind re-education through Accelerated Resolution Therapy® and Bonny Method of Guided Imagery and Music; and behavioral support through music-facilitated Dialectical Behavior Therapy. Much of my work relies on the creative arts – visual art, movement, music, metaphor – to provide insight into underlying distress and to allow for re-creation and re-integration of the whole self: body, heart, mind, and spirit.
Adopting a trauma-informed framework, I afford safety, respect, and compassion, believing firmly that every individual has the capacity to attain a sense of well-being and that each has access to a rich store of resources for healing. Your first consultation is complimentary, as I want you to be sure my approach matches your goals, and I welcome collaboration with your mental health professionals. I work with you to make sure your private pay sessions are affordable.
I look forward to working with you as you move toward wholeness.
