I am a physician specializing in the psychological & body-based treatment of TRAUMA. In addition to trainings in SE, SensoriMotor psychotherapy, EMDR and Internal Family Systems for the treatment of trauma, I draw on my 20+ year’s experience of working in the Emergency Dept. of a Regional Trauma Center. My approach to trauma recovery incorporates research-proven ways to successfully treat the psychological and emotional aftermath of trauma while also attending to often-overlooked reactive patterns in the body. I use a mindfulness-based somatic method that attends to body sensations, images, thoughts, emotions and beliefs that formed in the wake of a traumatic event. EMDR may be used as an adjunctive treatment. If you have become symptomatic from a car accident or other injury, sexual/physical assault, critical illness, medical or surgical intervention, combat exposure, mass casualty or natural disaster; or, if you have symptoms related to childhood trauma, this approach may be the key to help you feel safe and whole again. I also work with Emergency Medical Personnel (police/fire/EMS/Emerg Med) who have developed symptoms of PTSD related to repeated exposure to the trauma of others.
Call to schedule a no-charge 15 minute phone consultation to find out if my style of work is right for you.
