I treat persons with adult and childhood traumas (shock and developmental traumas). I am an SE Practitioner, and have assisted in multiple trainings over the years, so I know the model well. But over time my practice has evolved to a "somatically-informed parts approach" to trauma treatment. By incorporating the Internal Family Systems model, I am able to build upon the healing effect of working with the "felt sense", which is the basis of SE work, while addressing the parts of the personality that form in response to traumatic events and become frozen in time. Until they are healed, these managerial and reactive parts of the personality can dominate. But healing is possible and can result in a shift in how you feel toward yourself and others.
If you are experiencing symptoms from a car accident or other injury, sexual/physical assault, critical illness, medical or surgical intervention, combat exposure, mass casualty or natural disaster; or, if you have symptoms related to childhood trauma or attachment failures, this approach may be the key to help you feel safe and whole again. I also work with Emergency Medical Personnel (police/fire/EMS/Emerg Med) who have developed symptoms of PTSD related to repeated exposure to the trauma of others.
