HeartMind Resiliency

It is a great honor to witness people's return to their unique expression of wholeness. The essence of my work lies in meeting you with an attitude of heartful curiosity and acceptance so that you may safely explore life's mysteries and challenges. I weave together contemporary best practices in psychobiology, especially Somatic Experiencing, attachment and developmental theories, with the wisdom from ancient contemplative traditions to create an atmosphere where health and resiliency can arise. Through a combination of dialog, movement and touch we will access those places that have been forgotten, ignored or never fully explored. We will work to discover new resources and truths so that you may experience a newfound sense of well-being and trust in the unfolding process of your own unique life's journey. I am a Somatic Therapist with over 25 years experience in mental health, education and bodywork. My career path has been rich and varied and has included employment in mental health agencies, public and private schools, group homes for incarcerated youth, environmental education, and emergency and sports medicine.  I have degrees/certificates in Somatic Experiencing (SEP), Counseling (EdD), School Psychology (EdS and MEd), Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy (BCST and RCST), Waldorf Extra Lesson (AHE) and Biology (BS). I have advanced studies/practices in pre- and perinatal psychology, mindfulness meditation (Vipassana/Meditative Inquiry), Continuum, attachment theory, neuropsychology, movement and art. I find happiness and solace when connecting with loved ones and taking time in the natural world. My personal therapeutic and spiritual journey through the healing process from developmental, relational and shock traumas has gifted me with a deep sense of compassion, presence, patience and empathy for how we are not only capable of surviving the terrible truths of this world, but can also come to abide in a deep sense of peace, love and joy in that which is good and right. I welcome both children and adults, including infants, pregnant families and the elderly, to my practice and am happy to collaborate with other professionals in finding the best approach to support your healing process.
