Gayle Henry

Gayle Henry is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, SEP specializing in the treatment of complex PTSD, addiction, chronic pain, dual diagnosis, trauma and grief/loss.  She has worked in a variety of clinical settings including residential, intensive outpatient, private practice, both county & private facilities, as well as a halfway house. She spent over 15 years working with adults struggling from addiction & ran an Opioid Dependent Program for much of that time. The past 5 years she facilitated both groups and individual sessions in a PTSD & Trauma Recovery Intensive Outpatient program at Sharp Mesa Vista Hospital, East County.

Currently, Gayle offers  both individualized video sessions from the comfort of your home or in-person sessions at her office location in Banker's Hill, located in San Diego, CA. Gayle continues to enrich her learning in Advanced Certifications programs such as NeuroAffective Touch, Kathy Kain's Touch Skills & iRest Yoga Nidra.  She also utilizes more traditional psychotherapeutic approaches such as DBT and CBT. Integrating multiple modalities to meet your unique needs, Gayle pulls from all of her trainings to create an individualized experience for each client. Helping others move from a felt sense to a felt Self, Gayle joins others in creating a more aligned mind-body experience.  She often incorporates art and movement in the therapeutic process.

Gayle also volunteers her time, assisting in multiple SE cohorts, and is the Lead Assistant for the San Diego, CA Somatic Experiencing Beginning/Intermediate Training, as well as the PSEP Touch Skills Training. She has assisted for Peter Levine and other legacy faculty members in the following Master Classes: Chronic Pain/Syndrome, the Transformative Power of Eros and the Healing Transgenerational Trauma. Gayle won the Integrative Healing award for Sharp Healthcare in 2018 and has a passion for helping others offering a warm, genuine approach.

Gayle is an approved provider for facilitating personal sessions for Beginning, Intermediate & Advanced Somatic Experiencing students, as well as Individual Case Consultations for beginning SE students.  She offers sessions at a reduced rate to help support students working towards their SEP certification.
