In many ways my journey has come full circle. Having observed the workings of the pharmaceutical industry and academic medical training closely, from the inside, I became increasingly aware of the limitations of these approaches to wellbeing and personal development, and of the needs for more holistic approaches.
Initially an academic with a background in myth and literature, after a 20 year career in the mental health and wellbeing field as a researcher and evaluator, I turned my long-standing interest in healing and personal development into my main focus. Through becoming a Transpersonal psychotherapist, through teaching Transpersonal Counselors and Art Therapists, and and then becoming an SE (trauma resolution) therapist I realized that there are effective, empowering and rich ways of helping people to emerge from various life crises as healed, integrated, individuals. This interest buils upon earlier training (in my 20s) as a Voice Dialogue Facilitator, and more recent training in attachment-focussed sandplay therapy. I also continue my self-exploration as an ongoing student of the Diamond Approach to Inner Work.
In addition to being a therapist in private practice, I also work with the Path of Love process as a Facilitator, DJ, and am the organizer of the Path Retreats, Australia. I have served on the Australian Association of Holistic and Transpersonal Counselors (AAHTC) Executive.
My other qualifications include a B.A Hons (University of Sydney, University Medal in English Literature), and an M.Phil (University of Cambridge, UK).
The more I learn about SE, the more passionate I am about using it in my practice. Quite simply, it works! and I love supporting clients to find a new balance and joy in being alive.
