Gricelda Alva Brito

Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner

My name is Gricelda, and I live in Southern California.
I offer sessions online nationally and internationally. I completed my Somatic Experiencing ® (SE™) Practitioner Advanced Level II training in September 2024.

I hold a BA in Human Development emphasis in counseling services and have studio art background.

Relevant trainings:

2022 - Nine-month training, Foundations of Contemplative Care, New York Zen Center.
2022 - Seven-month training, The Collective Healing Journey taught by Thomas Hübl, The Academy of Inner Science
2022 - Safe at Home Confidential Program Enrolling Agency Training - State of California Secretary of State, no longer actively enrolling in the confidential mailing program.

Relevant Experience:
I began my professional trauma work in 2021, with immigrant unaccompanied minors/refugees at a shelter in San Diego, California. At the same time, I worked as a family advocate at an emergency shelter and answering the crisis hotline working with survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault (interpersonal harm).

I currently work as a confidential advocate and educator with college survivors of interpersonal harm offering trauma-informed care, survivor-centered services and creative practices. I have worked with college survivors students, employees, secondary survivors since 2021. When a college survivor has experienced recent interpersonal harm, part of my work is multifaceted ranging from coordinating care, problem solving, crisis stabilization, emotional regulation, establishing safety, and psychoeducation on the impacts of trauma on the nervous system.

Trauma-Informed Care:
As a trauma-informed practitioner, I meet clients where they are by creating a safe container and not forcing disclosures. I bring a gentle caring presence to support clients. What I love about somatic experiencing is that it is a very gentle process. I support client's inner capacity to hold space for what needs to be processed organically and gently.

I support individuals who have experienced traumatic events (recent or past), coping with grief and loss, transitions, reclaiming creativity and joy, experiencing more ease, live wholeheartedly and authentically.
