Isaac Shamah

My approach is holistic and multi-dimensional, engaging the imagination and supporting emotional and spiritual healing. I am a clinical social worker in private practice in Nyack, New York and NYC, NY. I am a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner and Somatic Experiencing Touch Practitioner specializing in trauma resolution, a relational psychoanalyst and couples therapist.
I am a certified therapist in EMDR, a treatment approach that has been empirically validated for the treatment of trauma and a NARM therapist, a cutting-edge model for addressing attachment, relational and developmental trauma, by working with the attachment patterns that cause life-long psychobiological symptoms and interpersonal difficulties.
My practice is inspired by 30 years of contemplative, mindfulness based Vipassana meditation, my experience training with and assisting Thomas Hubl in the Timeless Wisdom Training which is a path of deep transformation, by many years of interest in the creative arts, and by the natural rhythms of nature and the lessons we learn when we listen.
