I hold a deep and abiding belief in the inherent health and wholeness in each of my clients. My work is to support survivors of complex and developmental trauma to discover their innate blueprint for health and secure attachment. Somatic Experiencing (SE)™ has been a gateway for me to connect not only with my own blueprint for health and secure attachment, but with an embodied, heart-centered spirituality informed by decades of spiritual and meditative practices. I'm happy to report that my clients, many who are long-time meditators, are reporting these benefits as well!
I hold an MA from Naropa University in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology and have integrated Somatic Experiencing into a private practice that is informed 30+ years of spiritual practice and studies in the healing arts and human consciousness, as well as ongoing post-graduate clinical training.
Through nearly 20 years as a therapist in the mental health field, in agencies and now private practice, I’ve had the privilege of introducing Mindfulness, Somatic Experiencing, and cutting-edge modalities for healing developmental and complex trauma to a diverse range of populations. My training includes Dynamic Attachment Repatterning, (DARe)™, NeuroAffective Relational Model (NARM)™ and NeuroAffective Touch (NaTouch)™. I’m also an IFS (Internal Family Systems) Informed Therapist and have been integrating it into my work since I learned it 20 years ago while working with Veterans during my internship. I’m also part of the assisting team for the professional trainings of Somatic Experiencing, NARM, and NaTouch.
My focus is on attunement and collaboration with each individual’s needs, emerging truth, and movement toward integration and health. I hold the tenet that by tapping into the deep and innate intelligence of psyche, body and soul, we awaken to our freedom from past conditioning, survival strategies, and unconscious patterns. Our work together will honor all parts of you with both radical acceptance and the invitation for greater coherence between all parts.
I bring warmth, intuition, and compassion into the counseling relationship and the encouragement of free, authentic expression. Somatic Experiencing, Mindfulness, and Attachment theory inform all of my work and when applicable, sessions may include somatic touch, table work, meditative practices, spiritual inquiry, the Energy Psychology modality of Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), and the exploration of archetypal life themes through astrology.
