The impact trauma can have on a human is profound. One of the greatest gifts in my 20+ years of practice has been to witness individuals as they heal, and reclaim their health, happiness and wholeness.
After I obtained my MSW degree from NYU, I completed postgraduate training in eating disorders and body image issues at the Women's Therapy Centre Institute, and in Trauma Studies at the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy. In addition, I completed my three-year training in Somatic Experiencing and became an SEP in 2008. I went on to become an SE assistant in NYC. Interested in creating a culturally and spiritually sensitive practice, I completed courses in Judaism, Native American Spirituality, as well as a two-year program studying the world's major faith traditions. These studies have been a gift, as they allow me to better support individuals who have experienced religious or spiritual trauma, as well as to understand and appreciate spiritual practices that are resources to my clients.
I have run eating disorder groups for NYU, various nonprofits, as well as within my private practice. I have served as both a lecturer and group case consultant on eating disorders and trauma at postgraduate institutes in New York City. Mentoring, supporting and providing consultation to early career therapists is one of my passions.
I currently see clients virtually in California, Colorado, and New York, and offer consultation to early-career therapists nationwide. If you have out-of-network benefits, I am happy to help you explore whether or not your benefits will reimburse a portion of the fee. If you have been in a motor vehicle accident, I am happy to assist with receipts and any forms needed in order to help you submit them to your auto insurance.
Please feel free to visit my website to get a feel for who I am. If it feels like we might be a fit, I would love to hear from you. A good match is one of the most important components of therapy, and I invite you to email me with any questions you may have.
