I am an artist, mother, radical-self-love and pleasure advocate, ecovillager, attachment-awareness and relational repair enthusiast, and Somatic Experiencing practitioner. These are a few of my identities. I would love to learn about yours.
My desire is to support your healing and growth, guided by your therapeutic goals. I would love to accompany you on a journey of transformation and lasting change towards liberation from limiting patterns, conditioning, and beliefs that get in the way of you living with the sense of wholeness, resilience, authenticity, and connection you long for. Through my experience and training, I understand these kinds of substantial changes to come from within, in increments, and, in order to be long-lasting, occur and integrate on the experiential level, in the body and nervous system.
The work I offer is relational, embodied, and trauma-informed. Much of what we do in a session is to track what is happening in the present moment; in the felt sense, relational field, and meaning-making that comes up in real-time. The intention of this practice is to build skills and capacity for increased resiliency, presence, and sense of choice in responding, rather than reacting, to life experiences. As well as developing new pathways and patterns for handling life stressors and challenges, my hope is for our work to support your growing capacity for experiencing more joy, comfort, and pleasure in your daily life.
I will defer to you as the expert on your life, your experiences, and the actions you do or don’t choose to take. My intention is to cultivate a safe and non-judgmental environment, where we can give the body and nervous system the space, time, and support they need, listening for and following their innate wisdom, trusting their cues and signals of what is needed and wants to happen. Nothing that shows up in a session is ever “wrong,” but rather treated as important information with a message that we get to explore with curiosity and care.
If you ever want to change the way things are going in our therapeutic relationship, I invite your feedback. Our ability to collaborate on what works for you contributes to your power to advocate for your needs outside of therapy!
In addition to Somatic Experiencing, some of the modalities that my work draws from are non-violent communication, attachment theory, restorative and transformative justice practices of relational repair, narrative therapy, authentic movement and other embodied movement and mindfulness practices.
