My practice is focused on holistically treating the impacts of trauma on the body. I work to support a return to physiological regulation and a felt sense of safety while repairing the ways untreated shock and developmental trauma disrupt healthy functioning.
My style of acupuncture treatment is gentle and comes through a Japanese lineage primarily based on the teachings of Kiiko Matsumoto and her teachers, Master Nagano and Doctor Manaka. This system utilizes the palpation of reflexes for ongoing feedback on the effectiveness of treatment, which makes it an excellent method for treating complex conditions like those resulting from trauma.
Separate from my acupuncture practice, I offer Somatic Experiencing and Somatic Resilience and Regulation work as another way to integrate and heal the physiological impacts of trauma.
I am a white, able-bodied queer cis womxn committed to making my practice more trauma-informed, focusing on addressing my biases and the privileges of the identities I hold in order to better support individuals and communities whose experiences of trauma are caused by and/or greatly compounded by systemic oppression.
I do phone introductions before taking new acupuncture patients or new SE clients to ensure it's a good fit. To schedule a phone intro, please visit my website.
I am currently in-network for trauma-informed acupuncture with Regence Blue Cross Blue Shield, Providence, United Health Care and Pacific Source. Somatic Experiencing sessions are not covered by insurance and are cash fee only.
