Kate began training as a Somatic Experiencing(SE) practitioner in 2014 and became certified in 2019. She has 12 years of experience as a yoga teacher. She began working with the Prison Yoga Project in 2015, teaching somatic movement classes for youth and adults involved with the San Diego, California criminal justice system. Kate also spent 15 years in education teaching as an education specialist and as a classroom teacher in various grades 1-6. Through both personal experience and her work, Kate strongly believes in the impact of somatic practices in healing trauma, helping reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression, and increasing resilience for all ages.
