Larisa has provided counselling support to youth, adults and their families in a variety of professional settings for the 25 years. Compassionately supporting people who have experienced childhood trauma including pre-verbal trauma and birth trauma, intergenerational trauma and religious trauma. Larisa serves people who struggle with hoarding and people who survive without homes. Larisa works closely with the Hoarding Disorder Foundation of Alberta, The Organization for Prevention of Violence and the Masokamik Program which provides a space to stay and support for community members surviving without homes.
She believes all people have a unique story, deserve to know they belong and to experience connection to their body's wisdom. Larisa uses nature-based therapy, somatic experiencing, reiki and somatic practices (yoga, qigong and mindfulness) to support the people she serves. She will complete the Tao of Trauma (TOT) program in September 2025. She is using the learning from the TOT program currently with the people she serves. Larisa lives in Edmonton with her 2 sons, husband and dogs named Ned and Rayne.
She loves most practices that are connected to nature, yoga, qigong and spending time with her friends and family.
