"It's our nature to get along."

Author ~ Horsewoman ~ Somatic Therapist & Educator

I have worked extensively with children, complex trauma, attachment disruptions, and with adults who seek to shift from patterns that are rooted in survival strategies from earlier life. In addition to the "Advanced Certifications" listed below, I have completed Dave Berger's PTSD and Concussions workshop, Diane Poole Heller's Attachment Mastery workshop, Kathy Kain and Steve Terrell's Somatic Resilience and Regulation training, and Steve Terrell's Transformative Touch training. I am a PATH International Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor and Equine Specialist in Mental Health and Learning.

My work with horse people includes facilitating the recovery of balance and confidence after falls and other horse related injuries.

I have volunteered extensively to assist Somatic Experiencing trainings here in the US and abroad, in alignment with my valuing the importance of this body- and physiology-based work, facilitating people as they change their nervous systems, renegotiate trauma, and move from stuckness into living a life more flowing with presence, confidence, and pleasure. It is not always an easy journey but it's doable. I also assist EQUUSOMA trainings.

I started this path over fifty years ago as a meditator on a spiritual quest, in search of embodiment and nurturing relationships. I value connection, curiosity, creativity, and playfulness. I started this path over fifty years ago as a meditator on a spiritual quest, in search of embodiment and nurturing relationships. I value connection, curiosity, creativity, and playfulness. My life–both personally and professionally–is guided by a mix of Eastern and Western principles. Activities I enjoy include horse activities, gardening, writing, travel, and kayaking.

My first book, Getting Along with Rusty: Horses, Healing, and Therapeutic Riding (Mostly a Memoir), is available at online bookstores and via my website.
