Leigh Conant, MS, LMFT, is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist whose passion is to help couples create stronger connections and to assist individuals in learning how to manage life stress and trauma. She is a Certified Emotionally Focused Couples Therapist (EFT) and a certified Integrative Behavioral Couples Therapist (IBCT).
Leigh specializes in and has worked extensively with both the active duty and Veteran military community. She assists individuals and couples with a variety of stressors including combat-related trauma and injuries, anxiety, depression, military sexual trauma, deployments and frequent relocations.
Leigh provides a safe and nurturing environment to become more healthy, engaged and thriving in relationships and in life. She strives to deeply understand and support her clients, helping them explore their current experience and stuck areas, assisting them in regulation of their nervous system from stress and trauma, and building resilience. Leigh believes in the importance of self-awareness and mindful based living, and incorporates a variety of somatic and other techniques into her work to foster clients ability to grow and flourish.
Leigh is a licensed in the state of Virginia. She has worked for the Department of Veterans Affairs – Vet Center Program and is currently in private practice. She is also a member of the International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy (ICEEFT) and a clinical member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT). Leigh earned her master’s degree from Virginia Tech’s Marriage and Family Therapy Program and is a military spouse.
