Leslee Cook

Leslee D. Cook is a Marriage Family Therapist in independent practice. Leslee recently moved her residence to South Daytona Florida. Due to the Covid pandemic, she is using telehealth conferencing via Zoom. Leslee specializes in Somatic Experiencing a neuro-biological, mind/ body focused form of psychotherapy, aimed at reducing the effects of a dysregulated nervous system due to traumatic-stress related issues including Post Traumatic Stress,  Dissociation, Fibromyalgia, Anxiety, Addictions of all kinds, Phobias, Psycho-Somatic body pain, most likely stemming from shock or developmental/relational traumas. Leslee believes working holistically with the mind, body, and spirit is the most powerful way to heal from the unforeseen traumatic events that occurred during our lives. Leslee believes most mental health symptoms have their origin from traumatic developmental events rather than being deficits or disorders. These symptoms can effectively and rather quickly be resolved through Somatic Experiencing, a gentle body-based therapy that helps re-regulate the nervous system. Leslee is excited and passionate about helping individuals achieve self-regulation, an improved self-image, an enhanced capacity for relationships while eliminating self-defeating behavioral patterns. Leslee draws upon her wealth of knowledge, the latest research in neuroplasticity, and 33 years of psychotherapeutic experience to offer individuals and couples their own unique personal journey. Leslee has been providing counseling services in various settings and has been trained in various psychotherapeutic modalities. She incorporates her knowledge and training from Somatic Experiencing, Touch for Trauma, The Resilient Child, Neuro Affective Relational Model,  Neuro Affective Touch, Guided Imagery, Psycho-Drama, Developing Needs Meeting Strategy, EMDR, Transpersonal Therapy, Life Coaching skills, Movement Therapy and Mindfulness Practice. Leslee combines these modalities along with her knowledge of the Psychodynamic Process and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in an integrative mind-body-spirit healing approach.  Leslee is excited to offer these 21st Century cutting edge psycho-neuro-biologically based therapeutic approaches. This work enables each client to skillfully attune into their body's innate wisdom, eliminating self-destructive habits and dysfunctional relational dynamics while effectively rewiring their habitual neuronal reactions and responses and effectively calming and re-regulating their nervous system.
