Livia Adia Budrys, C-IAYT, SEP, LCSW

Somatic Psychotherapist & Yoga Therapist

PLEASE NOTE: I am an approved provider for personal sessions for SE students at the BEG, INT & ADV Level and consults at BEG Level. I meet with clients via Video/Zoom and for in-person intensives nationwide.

I am committed to supporting individuals and groups in discovering their capacity and right to full embodied aliveness. I work as a psychotherapist, social worker, yoga therapist, Somatic Experiencing Practitioner and spiritual activist.

My work has taken me to many clinical contexts, including residential treatment centers, inpatient units, college campuses, and private practice. My most recent leadership role was as Trauma Director for a national treatment center, consulting and creating trauma treatment models and supporting the system’s greater capacity for sustainable wellbeing. I am interested in best practices and the integration of neurobiology, somatics, yoga and psychotherapy practices in the healing of addiction, eating and mood disorders and the often underlying acute and chronic traumatization. As a first-generation immigrant and daughter of refugees, I have special interest in treatment models for intergenerational trauma and the intersection of post-traumatic grown and spirituality.

I am the pioneer of the Yoga-Informed Psychotherapy certification program ( and an advocate of the shift in this paradigm towards greater understanding and integration of these two fields. As a certified Yoga Therapist and initiate of the Himalayan Tantric lineage of Sri Vidya, I drawn from this ancient framework in my clinical practice, often integrating Yoga technologies, Tantra and Ayurveda.

I have attended several advanced trainings including: Chronic Pain and Syndromes with Peter Levine, Full Embodiment with faculty Ariel Giarretto, PTSD and Concussions with Dave Berger and Relational Development with Dr. Abi Blakeslee. I have been an SE assistant for the past 7 years and am an approved SE International Assistant.

I'm very passionate about bridging greater access to the principles of the SE framework. I am privileged to be supporting the creation of SE informed trainings in small to large mental health organizations to increase individual and system regulation while reduction the transmission and impact of vicarious traumas.
