<p><i><span style="color: #1d1d1d">Lori Clarke, PhD, CCC, SEP </span></i><span style="color: #1d1d1d">is an artist-researcher and body psychotherapist based in St. John’s, </span><span style="color: #1d1d1d">Ktaqmkuk (Island of Newfoundland). </span><span style="color: #1d1d1d">She received an MA Somatic Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies (1995) and an Interdisciplinary PhD at Memorial University of Newfoundland (2019). </span><span style="color: #1d1d1d">Lori works with a range of clients who have faced challenging and traumatic experiences, bereavement and those suffering with a range of losses- from the loss of a loved one, to relationship, career and identity transition, and health-related transitions. </span><span>Lori's work is grounded in somatic approaches including Somatic Experiencing™ and psycho-dynamic work exploring embodied personal and cultural narratives. <span style="color: #1d1d1d">Lori often collaborates with dance and performance artists, musicians, filmmakers, and writers, integrating somatic modes of inquiry and companionship in creative process. </span>All of Lori’s work, research, and artistic practice begin with listening, and trusting body wisdom. <span> </span>Lori is a Certified Professional Member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association and an active member of the United States Association for Body Psychotherapy with an ongoing appetite for learning and professional development. Recent learning is focused on healing developmental trauma and attachment wounds through training in Neuroaffective Touch (NAT) work. </span></p>
