Lori A. Parker, Founder of the Embodied Mindfulness Method™, is a Certified Feldenkrais Practitioner as well as a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner. The Feldenkrais Method, like Somatic Experiencing, is an awareness based educational model rather than a physical therapeutic model. The Feldenkrais Method focuses on two components of the SIBAM model used in Somatic Experiencing: Sensation and Behavior (i.e., movement).  Dr. Parker integrates the SE method into her Feldenkrais sessions as the need arises. She also offers individual sessions based exclusively on the SE model.

Dr. Parker has particular interest in early developmental shock trauma (where re-education of the sensory-motor system is of extreme importance). She is the author of "Shock Trauma, ANS Dysfunction, and Autoimmune Disorders: What's The Connection?" and "Polyvagal Theory: What Is It And Why Should We Care?"

She has also co-authored two articles written specifically for the SE Community.  One was co-authored with Senior Faculty Member, Dr. Raja Selvam.  “Working With Anger In The Context Of An SE Session.” The second was co-authored with Dr. Peter Levine and Dr. Raja Selvam: It is entitled “Coupling Dynamics”

Dr. Raja Selvam, Dr. Larry Heller, Maggie Kline, Gina Ross).  And she has assisted in 14 Advanced Level Modules (with Original Senior Faculty Members . . . Dr. Peter Levine, Dr. Raja Selvam, Kathy Kain).

Dr. Parker is an approved Provider of Individual SE Sessions at all levels: Beginning, Intermediate, & Advanced. She is also an approved provider of Case Consultations at all Levels: Beginning, Intermediate & Advanced.
