I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor whose primary treatment modalities are Somatic Experiencing(SE) and other body focused models to help clients integrate overwhelming experiences from their lives. My strengths are in creating a safe and contained space where deep shifts can occur, stabilize and integrate. I have been an SEP and training assistant for more than 19 years. My Somatic Experiencing qualifications and approvals include: Session and Consultation Provider all SE levels, Group Consultation Provider for Beginning and Intermediate Students, Training Assistant, BASE Practitioner. I have found that my clients who have experienced traumatic events and injuries benefit most from a gentle, safe, integrative approach to restoring resiliency to the nervous system. Residual unresolved trauma and stress increase physical symptoms and syndromes such as pain and many physical diagnoses. By decreasing charge and activation in the nervous system from a traumatic event or events, more of the body's resources are freed up for healing. The goal of treatment is to restore natural regulation to the body and nervous system. Improved regulation is experienced as reduction or elimination of pain, anxiety, depression, post-traumatic, and other symptoms. Clients often report, "I am feeling more comfortable in my own skin." Traumas and conditions commonly addressed include: anxiety, trauma from medical and dental procedures, trauma from catastrophic injuries, vehicle accidents, falls, abuse, chronic pain, fatigue, anxiety, depression, and syndromes. I also specialize in surgical preparation. I work primarily with individuals with a wide range of symptoms and syndromes. Additional approaches include behavioral medicine and adjustment counseling.
