Somatic Experiencing and Alexander Technique

Move through anything that stands in the way of your health and creativity.

Most of us have energy, confidence, motivation, healing wisdom, and imagination that we don’t fully experience and do not know how to access through the body. To provide you with an entry point for lifelong well-being, productivity, and personal transformation, I offer somatic sessions in person and online. My dedication to helping creative professionals and artists feel prolific at work, safe in their bodies, and confident to lead in times of uncertainty and upheaval, led me to enter the field of somatic work full-time in 2013. After a long career as a manager-entrepreneur and competitive athlete, I pursued the Alexander Technique Teaching certification, Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner certificate, embodied anatomy training, studio arts such as drawing and painting, Zen meditation, and, at the outset of a pandemic, a master’s degree in Depth Psychology and Creativity from Pacifica Graduate Institute.

In the hands-on learning approach of my somatic work the body is acknowledged as sentient and, at the same time, it is the custodian of habits, injuries, and trauma. These habits and harms can be accessed by working with proprioception, kinesthesia, and active engagement with sensory experiences. My somatic practice is grounded in awareness of breath, movement and sensations, and the force of weight and energy passing through our corporeal makeup.
