Marian Thompson

I have more than 15 years of experience working as a psychotherapist.  My specialties include working with survivors of sexual trauma, helping clients feel more at home in their bodies, and helping individuals and couples create healthy relationships.  I am a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner and am currently an assistant at SE trainings.  My work is attachment based and relational.   Using a sex-positive lens, I strive to create a non-judgmental environment for clients of all orientations and lifestyles.   I also have advanced training in Sue Johnson's Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT).

Somatic Experiencing can be a such a powerful tool to help you reconnect with yourself - your body, your intuition, your boundaries -  and with others.  In our sessions we will focus on co-creating safety, self-compassion, and curiosity.  Throughout my years of practice, I'm constantly amazed by all the ways that people adapt and survive after traumatic events.  In our work together, we can examine whether these adaptations are still serving you, how we can heal the wounded parts of you and create the life and relationships you want so that you can thrive.
