Maureen has enjoyed a private practice for over 23 years in the Bay Area combining holistic bodywork with Somatic Experiencing™. This includes the use of light touch, manual therapy and movement for chronic pain, injury and recovery from trauma. She has trained extensively in trauma resolution using Kathy Kain's touch work, cranial and visceral touch, orthobionomy, NeuroAffective Touch and SE™ Touch. From 2005-12 she was actively involved as a teaching assistant for the Somatic Experiencing International’s Professional SE™ Trainings and served for 8 years as coordinator and lead assistant to Dr. Peter Levine at his annual Esalen Institute workshops. She has also served with the Trauma Outreach Program bringing SE™ to survivors of Hurricane Katrina in Baton Rouge, LA. In addition, she is a Certified NARM Practitioner and former teaching assistant addressing developmental trauma as well as NeuroAffective Touch (NATouch) certified. She is approved by SEI to provide individual sessions and consultations for All Levels of SE™ students. She is the current President of the Somatic Experiencing Professional Association (SEPA) and invites all levels of students and SEP's to come check us out at norcalsepa.com. She has offices located in both Oakland and Sebastopol where she clients in-person as well as virtually.
