SE™ INTERNATIONAL PRACTITIONER DIRECTORY

Nancy E. Brutsché

Psychotherapist, Clinical Nurse Specialist

My office is in Bethesda, MD, and I see people online in MD, VA and DC. I see Beginner Level SE students for personal sessions online wherever you live:

I am an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, board-certified as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing with a specialty in psychotherapy. I have over 38 years of experience in health and wellness and 24 years of experience as a psychotherapist. I work from a holistic approach. Rather than trying to “fix” something that is “wrong” with you, I trust in your inherent wholeness and your capacity to work through what is between you and living from your wholeness. In my private practice, people come for help with a variety of concerns, often including a wide range of trauma (shock, developmental, PTSD, medical, etc.), depression, anxiety, physical/medical conditions/issues accompanied by emotional/mental health distress/imbalance, functional and/or quality of life issues, relationship and/or family struggles, transgenerational trauma/distress, cultural/race/gender inequality trauma/distress, work/career/work-life balance issues, stress, spiritual dissatisfaction, low self-worth etc. I meet people where they are, attune to and align with their body-mind-heart-spirit’s natural rhythms, flow, and capacity for healing. Primary methods that I work with in this process, depending on the client’s needs and wishes, include Somatic Experiencing (SE), Internal Family Systems (IFS), mindfulness, meditation, neuroscience, the Enneagram, attachment theory, and more (see my website for more extensive information).

Some additional SE-related trainings and experiences that have further enhanced my expertise as a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP) include but are not limited to: Eye of the Needle (SE for near death experiences and altered states of consciousness, with Peter Levine and Joshua Sylvae); Chronic Pain and Syndromes (with Peter Levine, Abi Blakeslee and Dave Berger); Transgenerational Trauma (with Peter Levine and Efu Nyaki); Somatic Strategies To Address The Interplay Between Shock and Developmental Trauma (with Peter Levine and Diane Poole Heller), Kathy Kain trainings in Touch Skills, Somatic Skills Online, Somatic Narrative, and Somatics of Common Complex Emotions; Dynamic Attachment Re-patterning experience (DARe)(w/ Diane Poole Heller); and extensive learning, consultation, and assisting experiences with SE Faculty member, Abi Blakeslee.

I am approved to assist in Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced Level SE Trainings and to provide personal sessions for Beginner and Intermediate SE students (SE Student session fee is $150/60 min.).

I eagerly invite and welcome people of all cultures, races, genders and sexual identification.
