Pawan Bareja, Ph.D., SEP is a Trauma Resolution Practioner specializing in mind-body healing using Somatic Experiencing and Mindfulness practices. She has been a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner for the past 10+ years and has traveled to India in 2012 to teach this work to professional care providers. As a senior assistant, she has coordinated and assisted in several rounds of Beginning, Intermediate and Advanced trainings. She has offered case consultations and sessions to students at all levels and supported several students in obtaining their credits to become SEPs. She has incorporated parts of attachment theory and mindfulness practices in her trauma resolution work. In her private practice, she has supported the healing of clients who have suffered from symptoms of physical and emotional abuse in their childhood, sexual trauma, accidents, and surgical trauma. She has also worked with addictions to food/sex/drugs, non-verbal pre- and peri-natal trauma and other categories of trauma.
Pawan is a Buddhist Ritual Minister and a Community Dharma Leader at Spirit Rock Meditation Center. In addition, she has assisted Spirit Rock teachers such as Phillip Moffitt, Jack Kornfield and Sally Clough-Armstrong during their daylongs and classes by offering one-on-one guidance to attendees. She teaches 4-5 Mindfulness and Trauma class series every year in San Francisco. In 2013, she began teaching Trauma daylongs for people-of-color at Spirit Rock. She will be teaching Trauma daylongs and classes at Spirit Rock in 2014 as well.
