As a licensed psychotherapist, trained somatic practitioner, and long-time student of Zen Buddhism, I have worked with clients somatically for more than 30 years. If you have experienced any level of trauma in your life, either developmentally as a child or through other life experiences, I can support you in slowly and gently releasing the effects of those traumas, and restoring your nervous system to its rightful, regulated state. Through the use of social engagement, guided awareness, movement, art, and other resources, we will explore ways to free you from the bondage of the past and worries about the future. In the safety of a supportive and loving environment, I will offer guidance to help you live more fully in the present moment, with a deepened sense of joy and ease.
Somatic work engages the body’s nervous system – including thoughts, feelings, images, sensations, and memories – in a subtle yet powerful way that allows positive, lasting changes in the way we feel, live, and experience life. Somatic Psychotherapy with an experienced trained clinician, attuned to you in a way that frees you to safely explore your relationship with yourself and others, can change the way you experience yourself and the world. As your therapist, I would feel honored to have the opportunity to help you feel better; to help you feel change happening in your life; and to help you re-discover your true nature and vitality.

I received my Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology with a Transpersonal Focus from John F. Kennedy University and I am a Clinical Member of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists and its local East Bay Chapter. I am currently near the end of the second year of the Somatic Experiencing three-year Professional Training Program© and am Certified by the Kripalu Yoga Institute as a Holistic Health Counselor / Educator. I have been a dedicated, practicing Zen Buddhist for more than 35 years and have been in 12-Step recovery for over 30 years. I enjoy walking by my local lake, driving along the coast, sitting on the beach, hiking in the woods, playing my guitar and singing, spending time with friends and colleagues, and helping others find joy and meaning in their lives. I look forward to meeting you.
