I specialize in providing a holistic and integrated approach to concerns such as anxiety, chronic illness, depression, stress management, self-esteem, trauma, grief and loss, parenting, and relationship concerns.
I am trained in mindfulness-based approaches, somatic psychotherapy (Hakomi and Somatic Experiencing), play therapy, yoga, energy psychology, sandtray and art, as well as traditional cognitive behavioral therapy (including dialectical behavior therapy and exposure therapy). I enjoy working with children, adolescents, and adults.
With children, I use play therapy, somatic experiencing and art to explore concerns such as anxiety, adoption related concerns, grief, family transitions, behavior issues, bullying, self-esteem, and trauma. Through these gentle and creative methods, children are able to explore emotions, discover their strengths, and build coping skills.
My work with adolescents and adults focuses on finding balance, strengthening resiliency, discovering adaptive coping skills, building self-esteem, healing from trauma, and discovering solutions for everyday challenges.
I continue to receive the latest training and skills. I have been trained in Somatic Resilience and Regulation, a method used for trauma healing and begun training in Transforming the Experience Based Brain (TEB). I'm currently training in Healing Touch Energy Work. In addition to my private practice, I have provided services to the non-profit sector for the past two decades. I currently co-coordinate the Somatic Experiencing trainings in the Atlanta, Georgia area.
