Robert Kingsbury is an SEP and Registered Psychotherapist based in Toronto, ON. He is trained in Gestalt Therapy, Biodynamic Craniosacral, Pre & Perinatal Therapies and Visceral Manipulation. Coming to somatics through backgrounds in contemporary dance and bodywork, Robert weaves relational and somatic work to support clients holistically. Robert is a queer man who often works with developmental trauma, gender, sexuality, attachment, dissociation, CPTSD, chronic health, medical and intergenerational trauma. He is passionate about learning what supports safety and growth for each individual and holding a space of peace, presence and witness in this complex world. Robert shows up in his practice with spontaneity, responsivity, flexibility, wisdom and humour.
Robert's backgrounds in contemporary dance, somatic research and musical composition deeply inform his understanding of experiential anatomy, attentional presence-based practices and deep listening. As a practitioner he offers a process-based approach to somatic therapy supported by both intuitive modes and established methods. Combining deep anatomical awareness with a spacious client-centered relationality, the healing process is invited to emerge and integrate on multiple levels.
Robert assists on SE trainings and can sign off on Beginner level personal sessions.
