Ronald A. Alexander, Ph.D., MFT, SEP, a psychotherapist, leadership coach and clinical trainer is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the states of California and Colorado (CA Lic. #MFC7707 & CO Lic. #253). He is a seminar leader and conducts training’s for professionals nationally and internationally in Mindfulness-Based Mind-Body Therapies, Somatic Experiencing Therapies, Gestalt Therapy, Ericksonian Hypnosis, Mindfulness Meditation and Psychotherapy. He received his certificate of training as a SEP ( somatic experiencing practitioner ) from the Somatic Experiencing Trauma Institute from Boulder Colorado, He consulted with and received treatment from Milton H Erickson MD. He also personally trained with Ernest Rossi, and Steven Gilligan in Ericksonian Hypnotherapy as well as with Daniel P. Brown of the Harvard Medical Cambridge Hospital professional training’s seminars in hypnosis and hypnoanalysis. He was trained and certified by the Los Angeles Gestalt Therapy Institute and with Erving and Miriam Polster Ph.D. of the Gestalt Training Center of La Jolla. He also received training and supervision in Somatic Experiencing Therapies, Contemporary Gestalt and Family Therapies, Psychoanalytic Self-Psychology, Relational and Object Relations Therapies. He is a lifetime associate member of the American Psychological Association and a clinical member of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists.
Dr. Alexander was Chairman of the Psychology Department and Director of Clinical Training at Ryokan College for 18 years. He is a long time extension faculty member of the UCLA Departments of Humanities, Social Sciences, and Entertainment, and a lecturer in the David Geffen School of Medicine. He is a member of the adjunct Graduate Faculty in Psychology at Pepperdine University and Pacifica Graduate Institute, Santa Barbara, Spring Workshops London, England and is a long time workshop leader at the Esalen Institute in Big Sur and The New York
