I am a certified Somatic Experiencing Practitioner with the Advanced Touch Skills Training for Trauma Therapists Certification for acute and developmental-complex trauma. I have taken the Master Class-Eye of the Needle, as well as the Master Class Depression, Aggression and Life Energy with Peter Levine. I have Assistant level status which means I am qualified to assist at SEP trainings and provide counseling sessions for beginning level SEP students. I currently have a private practice in Seal Beach, CA, where I see individuals of all ages who are affected by a variety of stressful and often traumatic experiences. I have many years of experience as a school psychologist with preK-community college students and their families who are dealing with behavioral, emotional and learning difficulties. I use a combination of the following when appropriate: Somatic Experiencing techniques,Touch Skills, Bodywork, acupressure, Focusing Communication techniques, Behavior Management, Cognitive-Behavioral skills, Psycho-education and Conflict Resolution strategies in working with individuals. I mainly work with clients individually, though I occasionally work with couples and groups under certain circumstances. I also work with children's learning, emotional and behavioral challenges and provide counseling, sensory awareness and parent consultation. Adults are usually seen individually, with occasional meeting together to train in communication skills. I completed The Resilient Child Touch Series in 2013 which taught theory, process and touch skills for early developmental trauma, often coinciding with current childhood or adulthood stress and trauma. I specialize in helping the client heal and regain balance, joy and self regulation from the effects of stress and trauma, especially medical trauma, grief and loss, accidents, relationship issues, anxiety, depression, chronic physical symptoms, and challenges of youth and parenting. Skype and phone sessions are also available.
