Sille E. Borstad

Somatic Educator, LMT, SEP, RCST®

Sille’s practice blends the non-invasive hands on approach of Biodynamic Cranio Sacral Therapy and SE Touch Work skills for autonomic nervous system regulation.  In addition she incorporates verbal guidance and hands-on skills from her SE training as well as the following modalities: DARe (Dynamic Attachment Re-patterning experience), Touch Skills for Trauma Therapists, TEB (transforming the experience based brain) -touch skills for early developmental trauma, SRR (Somatic Resilience and Regulation) and Alchemical Alignment.  While listening to the story of the body Sille supports the body to have a voice and supports it’s story to be told through somatic sensations, images and  movements that might emerge spontaneously and might want to be expressed.

Sille is not a psychologist or a psychotherapist or any other kind of mental health care practitioner and does not provide cognitive therapy or “talk therapy”.

She is a licensed Massage Therapist in the District of Columbia (#37) and brings 42 years of experience as a Somatic Educator.

She creates an atmosphere of connection and collaboration that supports her clients moving towards a greater sense of well being. This is created by cultivating a sense of safety, collaboration, non-judgment, attunement, a resonant field and holding the inherent and intrinsic belief that everyone can heal. This is not regressive therapy. Sille's work supports the body’s/nervous system's ability to self regulate and return to it’s organic nature.  This in turn can support change and you might experience more resilience and a greater capacity to be with the challenges and stressors of life.

An important aspect of SE  is placing your attention and noticing on what is happening in your body in present time and what does your nervous system need in this moment ? The SE model supports working with your nervous system and soma (body). We do this with support and awareness and by becoming more familiar with the nervous system states and knowing where you are in each moment in the Autonomic Nervous System Map. We also work on developing your sensory awareness, sensory vocabulary and self-help vagal nerve exercises. We ALSO spend time on noticing what is WORKING in your body and nervous system. It is a collaborative process.

This work supports the rediscovery of parts of your self that you might have lost connection with. SE Touch Work has the ability to change life long patterns that no longer serve you. The touch work offered will over time support and nurture your autonomic nervous system to move towards a greater sense of SAFETY, REGULATION, RESILIENCE and a greater sense of CONNECTION with self and others.
