As a body-centered psychotherapist who works with adults, I have found that symptoms that bring people into therapy are often the result of an overwhelmed nervous system. There are small "t" and big "T" traumas that can can happen suddenly or over time when we live through something that occurs too fast, too soon or lasts too long (accidents, violence, loss and grief, falls or medical procedure trauma). Slowing down, we tune into the nuances and wisdom of the nervous system with emphasis on resourcing and safety through the language of the body. Focusing on nervous system stabilization by combining creative modalities, somatic and mind-body approaches help treat and resolve the fight-flight-freeze and fawn cycles in the present moment, and move toward resiliency, as well as self- and co-regulation.
I like to provide a safe and supportive container to help gently renegotiate old emotional and physical strategies, and practice new ways of being with oneself and in the world.
In private practice for the past thirty years, twenty as a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, I have assisted Somatic Experiencing trainings in the US and in France, and Trauma First Aide. I am a SETI-approved provider of required personal sessions for SE students. I work online with clients in the US and in Europe.
