Each of us possesses a natural capacity to heal, but we can lose our connection to that capacity, developing behavior patterns that once helped us cope but now interfere with living fully. If you or your child feels shut down, anxious, fearful, depressed, overwhelmed, or hypervigilant, we can work together to help you restore your best self. Through a safe environment and trusting therapeutic relationship, you'll have the opportunity to use body, mind, and emotional awareness to make the changes you seek.
Along with Somatic Experiencing, SE Touch, and SRR (Somatic Resilience and Regulation), I'm also trained in and draw from IFS, EMDR, Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy, the Safe and Sound Protocol, and other tools, aiming to find the pathways that best resonate for each client. For work with children, I'm also trained in Theraplay, SMART (Sensory Motor Arousal Regulation Treatment), and DDP (Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy).
My core strength as a therapist is helping people with histories of childhood trauma, attachment trauma, sexual abuse, intimate partner violence, loss, and identity issues. I also help with issues arising from single incidents such as car accidents, natural disasters, surgery, or assault and have a lot of experience with medical/health trauma.
I direct a group practice, Mindful Therapy Brooklyn, in which all the therapists work with children, adolescents, parents, and adult individuals. We are all trained in experiential therapies -- somatic approaches, IFS, Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy, play therapy, the Safe and Sound Protocol, and Sensory Motor Arousal Regulation Therapy (SMART), which helps children resolve trauma and restore emotional and behavioral balance. I've found that most child-friendly modalities—like play, dance/movement, and rhythm—are also useful for adults.
