After many years of training and experience, I developed a unique treatment approach using a combination of psychotherapy, Somatic Experiencing, Somatic Experiencing touch, CranioSacral therapy and grief work, together with spiritual and intuitive resources. This blended approach is gentle, healing and restorative. Sessions are dynamic. Sessions often bring immediate relief.
In session, we spend just enough time on "the story" and focus more on how the body responds. Somatic work is very different than traditional talk therapy. There is no need to revisit painful experiences; the focus of treatment is to regulate the nervous system. This process is effective in resolving symptoms and restoring inner peace. Our primary focus is to invite relief by calming (regulating) the system and by creating energetic space so that the body can do what it is designed to do, heal. When the nervous system is less stressed (physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually) and more resourced, it has a greater capacity to function, heal and thrive. Although I work with many people who are healing from a wide range of issues, a significant part of my practice is working with anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive behaviors, sexual abuse and unresolved grief. In addition, I work with many clinicians who are on their own healing journey.
For professionals enrolled in Somatic Experiencing training: I am an approved provider for personal sessions for students at all levels. I am approved to provide consultation sessions for students at all levels. I very much enjoy working with SE students as they learn and discover the gentle yet powerful healing power of SE. It is personally fulfilling to witness their experience and know that, in turn, they will bring SE to their clients in the future.
Sessions are covered by insurance; however, I recommend that you confirm coverage with your insurance carrier. I am an out-of-network provider.
