Developing healthy relationships is a crucial component in experiencing happiness or wellbeing. I am focused on helping you build resilience and self-esteem, develop helpful coping skills to be applied in various situations and settings, and become more cognitively, emotionally, and behaviorally flexible. This process may involve a gentle exploration of trauma, which is all too often a major source for present distress. Healing also involves letting go of that which no longer fits, such as unhealthy relationships and habits. Enhancing motivation is an important part of the work, while curiosity is key.
I utilize a trauma-informed approach that is compassionate and conscious. Somatic Experiencing® informs much of my work, as I strongly value bottom-up processing as a pathway to healing wounds revealed in cognition, emotion, and behavior. You can expect to learn and refine various techniques that can promote autonomic nervous system regulation.
With experience of being on both sides, the client and the therapist, I have learned what a secure bond can feel like and how to be fully here with another. My role as your therapist is being present with you. This is a collaborative process that is tailored to meet your needs. Not clear about your needs? That can be identified as well!
