I am a licensed mental health counselor and credentialed alcohol and substance abuse counselor working out of my private practice in Syracuse, NY. In my practice I provide therapy, performance coaching for adolescents and adults, consulting and supervision. I started my journey as a counselor over 10 year ago, serving clients in dire need in intensive outpatient substance use treatment. During this time, I recognized the connection between the stuckness that clients experienced as a result of unaddressed trauma, depression, chronic pain and anxiety and the opportunity for addiction to take hold on their lives. I became committed to seeking ways to work with the whole of a person's experience, as opposed to just managing their symptoms. In discovering Somatic Experiencing®, I transformed the way I practiced as a counselor. I later transitioned to working as a therapist for students at Syracuse University, and served on specialized teams for sexual and relationship violence response and alcohol and drug treatment. In these various settings working with clients, I have found that working to build or restore capacity for safe embodiment, increase access to nervous system regulation, and develop a therapeutic relationship that allows for their experience to be deeply heard, seen and given voice to have opened up possibilities in their lives that felt impossible before.

I work with clients to facilitate the discovery of untapped strengths, implicit wisdom and somatic resources that can be utilized to address individual goals and promote personal growth. Through integrating Somatic Experiencing®, relational psychodynamic therapy and adult attachment work, my goal in working with clients is to go beyond cognitive understanding to address stuckness that inhibits their authentic presence, confidence and embodiment. I bring my life's experience as a counselor, Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner, dedicated martial arts athlete and coach to bear in my work with clients. I view my work as a collaborative process that honors the agency and dignity of those seeking support. I strive to be attuned, authentic and consistent in my presence. I am passionate about tailoring my approach to meet the specific needs of clients and broadly support their developmental trajectory. This includes working with clients as a therapist and as a coach through opening up possibilities for their performance as athletes, in their professional and personal lives to reach new heights.
