Since 1998, I have been in private practice as a somatically trained bodyworker. I do all that I can to help my clients find relief from pain and from the feeling of being overwhelmed that can accompany injury; chronic and/or confusing health conditions; and trauma and its consequences.
Somatic Experiencing: The principles of SE guide us in attending to your experience. Kindness and respect are inherent in the approach.
Bodywork: Myofascial Release, Myofascial Trigger Point Therapy, and craniosacral therapy, as well as SE, are the primary trainings I rely on. I see “just right,” safe touch as a fundamental need - in sessions, we take the time to get it just right.
Restorative Exercise: When your body's moving parts are aligned well with each other and with gravity, your whole physiology functions better. When you change your own shape, you change your relationship with yourself.
I've noted areas of specialty in which I have had relevant specific training and in which clients have found working with me helpful. I enjoy working with adults, teens, and older children, and a wide variety of conditions and needs. It is fine to come for regular ongoing treatment or to come once or a few times, as fits your life.
This work can be particularly well suited to people who are by nature highly sensitive, introspective, and/or introverted. It can also be very helpful for people wanting to change their relationship with touch.
