Bríd Mãire Keenan

Bríd Keenan: independent practice as a Gestalt psychotherapist since 1995 and is a clinical supervisor and trainer since 1994.

Bríd has been a therapist for 15 years with a community based organisation supporting the relatives of those killed in disputed circumstances in the conflict in the North of Ireland. She has a particular interest in transgnerational trauma and the impact of traumatic memory (individuals and communities)  and in particular in relation to peacebuilding. She has co-authored a number of resources on conflict related trauma and has presented papers to international conferences in South Africa, Berlin, England and will do so again in Krakow in September 2013. Bríd provides workshops throughout Ireland, as well as in other countries – England, Scotland, Norway.

She qualified as a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner 2005 and has been assisting at training since 2006 in England and The Netherlands and is currently part of the assisting team in Ireland.    She established Ireland SE - a not for profit organization in 2012 and is co-ordinator and a director of the organization. The first training began in March 2013 the second training in 2015 and a new training will begin 2018.

In 2013 Bríd completed the first NARM training with Laurence Heller and completed the masterclass programme 2014-2016.  She is has assisted NARM programmes in Denmark and England and will start the NARM training in IrelaND 2018.

She co - founded the Gestalt Centre Belfast and is a member of the European Association for Gestalt Psychotherapy (EAGT). Her practice includes working with adults young people and children, couples and groups and working with community based counselors. Bríd is also a process consultant with community-based organisations using Gestalt in the context of large and small systems.
