Demi Kapler

LPC, SEP

Are you feeling stuck, overwhelmed, bogged down, on high alert, ready to jump out of your body, or sulk into the background, lacking joy and connection, or distracted? I hear you. I am proud of you for taking the first step in seeking change and I would be honored to walk alongside you on this journey.

Somatic Experiencing® is a body-oriented therapeutic approach designed to counter the experience of trauma, gently allowing the body to relearn how to use its natural ability to restore balance and regulate emotions in the present, that may have not been possible in the moment of a traumatic or stressful experience. When we are stuck in patterns of fight, flight, or freeze, Somatic Experiencing helps us release, recover, and become more resilient.

I have always been drawn to experiential approaches, particularly those that center on connection, whether it be to nature, animals, or another human. In my practice, I utilize a person-centered approach centered in the here and now, while leaning on attachment theory, cognitive behavioral therapy, somatic experiencing, and equine-assisted approaches.

I look forward to connecting with you and exploring the joy, vitality, capacity, and strength within.

(I am an LPC in Colorado, though I currently reside and practice in Minnesota as a pre-licensed professional. I am available to see clients in-person or virtually and take insurance in MN, or private pay with clients virtually anywhere)
